Fire Marshal's Office: The State Fire Marshal's
Office provides professional personnel and programs for
the citizens of Illinois and is committed to protecting

inspection, investigation, training, education, data
processing and statistical fire reports. The agency
mission is to "Reduce death, injury and property loss of
Illinois citizens from fires, explosions and other
hazards."

of Arson Investigators: A Statewide organization of
fire investigation professionals committed to the
suppression of the crime of arson.
International Association
of Fire Chiefs: Our members are the world's leading
experts in fire fighting, emergency medical services,
terrorism response, hazardous materials spills, natural
disasters, search & rescue, and public safety
legislation.
Insurance Service Office - Public Protection

officials, community leaders, and other interested
citizens can access a wealth of data describing how
cities and towns are protecting residents from natural

National Fire Protection
Association: The NFPA mission is to reduce the
worldwide burden of fire and other hazards on the
quality of life by providing and advocating
scientifically-based consensus codes and standards,
research, training, and education.
National Fire Academy: Through it's courses and
programs, the National Fire Academy works to enhance the
ability of fire and emergency services and allied
professionals to deal more effectively with fire and
related emergencies.

Fire Sprinkler Association - Illinois: The Northern
Illinois Chapter of the National Fire Sprinkler
Association is dedicated to educating and informing the
Chicago area public of the vital role sprinkler systems
play in fire protection. The Association supports and
encourages responsible workmanship through its member
firms.

States Fire Administration: As an entity of the
Department of Homeland Security and the Federal
Emergency Management Agency, the mission of the USFA is
to reduce life and economic losses due to fire and
related emergencies, through leadership, advocacy,
coordination, and support.
Illinois Fire Apparatus Mechanics Association:
The group was founded
in 1985 by fire and ambulance apparatus technicians,
based on the need of reliable factory training. Fire
apparatus are so unique that local vocational training
was not available. Progress in training and cooperation
between departments has greatly improved our
technician’s knowledge over the past decades.
